RIGHTS OF FOREIGN CITIZENS IN UKRAINE

Determination of the legal status, securing fundamental rights, freedoms and duties of aliens and stateless individuals residing or temporarily staying in Ukraine, establishment of the procedure of addressing the issues regarding their arrival in Ukraine or departure from Ukraine are performed by the Law of Ukraine "On the legal status of aliens and stateless individuals" (hereinafter referred to as "Law").

Thus, according to the Law foreign nationals have the following rights in Ukraine:

to investment and business activity;
to work;
to rest;
to health protection;
to social protection;
to residence;
to property and personal non-property rights;
to education;
to enjoy cultural achievements;
to participate in associations of citizens;
to freedom of conscience;
to rights in marriage and family relations;
to guarantee of individual rights;
to move on the territory of Ukraine and to choose the place of residence;
to protection of the rights of aliens and stateless individuals.

It should be noted that aliens and stateless individuals are not entitled to vote or be elected to the state or local authorities as well as participate in referendum.

Furthermore aliens and stateless individuals must not execute military duty, they don't undergo military service in Armed Forces of Ukraine as well as other military formations established according to the Law of Ukraine.
